None of our work would be possible without the generous support of thousands of individuals and many great organizations. Over the past 10 years, one of those organizations has been Hatch.
Hatch first sponsored our National Conference, xChange, in 2005, and we had the pleasure of welcoming many of their employees to our annual events. The company has been a long time sponsor and partner to our Kumvana program, creating the opportunity for young African leaders to build their capacity through workplace visits, mentoring and coaching. Finally, Hatch is one of 40 participating organizations in the Engineering Change Lab, working to unlock the engineering profession’s potential to contribute to society positively. At the Change Lab, at conference and in our everyday work, Hatch is an important partner for EWB, and we thank them for their continued support!
We were also pleased to welcome a new partner to the EWB family last year: the Small Foundation, led by Tim and Anna Brosnan. The Small Foundation’s mission is to catalyse the proliferation of sustainable income-generating opportunities for extremely poor people in rural sub-Saharan Africa, and we are grateful that they have chosen to do this through EWB.
The Small Foundation has committed $2.1 million over three years, allowing us to ramp up our support to social enterprises serving small and growing businesses. It is a privilege to count the Foundation as a champion of our work, and we look forward to creating impact with them in 2016 and beyond.
